This year I entered three sets of images into the Australian Photography Photographer of the Year competition. I had one entry in the Landscape category and two in the Animals and Nature category. Please forgive the clickbait title, they’re not really “winning” entries. I am nevertheless pleased that all three of my entries scored “Commended” awards. I must be doing something okay!

Seaside Rendezvous

When you think of an escape down the coast, what do you think of? The beach-side with it’s quaint old boat houses? A fully catered resort with commercial fishing tours? The private yacht in the peaceful bay? Or are you more of the isolated fisherman’s hut type of person?

Animal and Nature

Floriade 2024 – Stages of a Tulip

A series of images taken over a couple of visits to Floriade 2024 in Canberra. Different tulips, showing different stages of their Floriade life.

Floriade 2024 – White Flowers

Showcasing a number of different white flowers, each unique in their shapes, types and surroundings. This was the last day of Floriade 2024, and people were out in force enjoying the sun, and the last opportunity of the year to see the display. These flowers contributed to that effect, each in their own ways.
