Red Hill is a prominent hill close to the centre of Canberra but on the other side of the lake from the two better-known peaks of Mount Ainslie and Black Mountain. I have regularly gone up there for walks and more recently for photographic exercises. My early experiments in stitched panoramas were taken from there.
In early 2023, we had a red moon event, where the sun was sufficiently opposite the earth from the moon to create a very red moon. This was not dust in the air (another common cause of this effect). I took the early photos of the moon rise from Red Hill (but the later one was not actually taken from there but from my home location).
