The village of Thirlmere, on the outskirts of Sydney, is the home of the NSW Railway Museum. Every year (with some exceptions during COVID) they run the Thirlmere Festival of Steam in the village, combining features from the Railway Museum and other steam powered engines from other sources. There are often bands and entertainment rides on one or both days. On the second day (the Sunday) the village generally hosts a market stall day in several of the main streets, with a mix of craft, food and other market stalls to peruse.
I have been to two Festivals so far, and I’m keen to go again.
